About Us

The North Cass Herald began publication in July 2012, just 14 months after the closure of

The Star Herald, which had served Northwest Cass County for more than 129 years.

Founders of the North Cass Herald are Publisher Laurie Bassett Edmonds (laurie@northcassherald.com) and Editor Allen Edmonds (allen@northcassherald.com). The weekly newspaper, which publishes on Wednesdays, covers the communities of Belton and Raymore.

Our office is located at 120 Main Street in Belton, next to the Historical Presbyterian Church. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
