Belton Welfare Association launches Operation Santa

The Belton Welfare Association, along with the West Central Community Action Agency and the Belton Park Department will be asking for help again this year providing groceries, gifts and toys for less fortunate families and individuals living in the Belton and Raymore-Peculiar school districts this holiday season.

Other community organizations will collect and sort canned goods, hand out groceries and make deliveries.

Visit the team at the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting on Dec. 2 at Memorial Station to donate non-perishable food items for a chance to win prizes.

Signups for those needing help will be held this Saturday and Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center in Belton’s Memorial Park, 609 Minnie.

Additional signups will be West Central, 208 E. Walnut, Raymore, each Tuesday through Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.

New this year for working families will be signups at the Belton Northern Resource Center Library on Nov. 12 and Nov. 19 from 5-8 p.m.

The books are ready for adoptions each Tuesday until Nov. 26 at West Central from 9 a.m. to noon.
