Cass Regional announces additional measures in response to emergency

HARRISONVILLE – Cass Regional Medical Center has implemented the following new changes in response to the COVID-19 pandemic:

No Elective Surgeries or Screening Procedures

Cass Regional has postponed elective surgeries and regular screening procedures, such as routine mammograms and colonoscopies, until further notice.

No Outpatient COVID-19 Testing

Cass Regional’s family medicine clinics are no longer administering tests for COVID-19. This decision was made to help alleviate the backlog of tests for hospitalized patients in the region, as well as to preserve the supply of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Telehealth Visits

The organization has expanded telehealth options for several of its primary care and specialty clinics. Patients who are interested in this virtual visit option should call the clinic office first. For a list of clinics and contact information, visit www.cassregional.org.

Additional Screening Measures

All employees are now undergoing temperature checks upon arrival to Cass Regional Medical Center, and again when exiting the facility.

Weekend Access to Facility

Beginning Saturday, March 28, the main entrance to Cass Regional Medical Center will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays until further notice. Patients and visitors should use the Emergency Department entrance on weekend days.

No-Visitor Policy

The no-visitor policy remains in effect at Cass Regional. Exceptions include: allowing one caregiver for minor or mentally-disabled patients; one caregiver/driver for surgery and/or outpatient testing; one caregiver/driver for Emergency Department or clinic visits; and one dedicated family member where end of life care is being given. If a visitor is identified to have one or more risk factors during screening at the hospital entry doors, he or she will not be allowed to enter the facility.

COVID-19 Hotline

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services’ COVID-19 hotline can be reached at 877-435-8411. The hotline is being operated by medical professionals and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All requests for COVID-19 testing should go through the hotline.
