Ella Schnake is the national champion in Program Oral Interpretation

Ella Schnake is the national champion in Program Oral Interpretation. She competed June 16-21 at the National Speech and Debate tournament in Dallas. You can watch her performance, “Debate Like a Girl” at https://vimeo.com/343494665 (Advance to 2:06). Schnake will be a senior this fall at Ray-Pec High School. In the Program Oral Interpretation event, students use selections from prose, poetry and drama to create a 10-minute performance around a central theme. She is the daughter of Theatre Teacher Todd Schnake and recently-retired Theatre Teacher Pam Schnake. Her brother, Dane Schnake, is the theatre teacher at South Middle School. Andrew Burton placed 7th in the nation in Humorous Interpretation for the Middle School portion of the tournament. He is a student at Ray-Pec South Middle School.
