Jesse E. Helt (Eddie) of Lake Ozark, Mo., passed away on December 16, 2022.
Eddie was born on June 26, 1936, to Jesse F. and Nellie N. Helt in Independence, Mo.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of the home and three daughters, Brieanna Dickerson (Rob) of Peculiar, Shanda Fleming (Paul) of Lee’s Summit, Tammy Gregory (Mark) of Gainesville, Texas, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as one brother, Jerry Helt (Jean) of New Middletown, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse F. Helt, mother Nellie N. Helt, two brothers Robert and Billy Helt and sister Nancy Ryland.
He attended Lexington Mo. High School. After high school he proudly served his country in the US Navy and also in the US Marine Corps as a Corpsman.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Freeman, Mo.
Eddie spent 14 years running the Skate Land in Excelsior Springs, Mo. He also worked as a Medical Lab Tech, and worked as a painter at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit. He spent 20 years pushing snow for Allied at Claycomo Ford Plant, which he thoroughly loved. He spent 40-plus years as an owner/operator driving for several companies including National Carriers and Mercer.
Eddie spent the last six years at Lake Ozark.
He requested cremation with military honors.
Eddie’s Celebration of Life will be held on January 21 at the VFW Hall, 1804 N Commercial St. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m., with services at 2 p.m.
Eddie was a kind and loving soul, we will miss him terribly.
