Lon Bernard Brown, 93, went home to be with his Lord December 9, 2023, at Foxwood Springs Senior Living in Raymore. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with the visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, Lon requested donations to Courts Redford College of Theology and Ministry at Southwest Baptist University, 1600 University Avenue, Bolivar, MO 65613.

Lon was born December 1, 1930, in Garden City, Kan., to Roscoe and Vivian Brown. He was married to Cecelia (Doby) Brown on August 22, 1954, in Waynesboro, Miss. Lon was a positive, outgoing person, always ready to give a smile and an encouraging word. He never said he was having a bad day due to his family upbringing and his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a natural athlete who played basketball and ran track in high school. His two triplet brothers often did his chores on the farm for Lon to be able to participate in sports. He placed second in the Missouri state track meet 1-mile race his senior year. He served in the Air Force until his honorable discharge to become a minister. He attended Southwest Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lon served as a Baptist pastor for over sixty years across Mississippi, Arkansas, Michigan, and Missouri and even drove a school bus for a time for Raymore-Peculiar School District. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, but he loved fishing and went every chance he got. Lon and his triplet brothers, Larry, and Gene received a Guinness World Records award as the oldest living male triplets at 92 years 336 days old verified on November 2, 2023.
Lon was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Gleeson, Leeland, Ruby (Brown) Young, Forrest, and his wife Cecelia. He is survived by his triplet brothers Larry and Gene; his children Julia Brown, Gary Brown, Lloyd Brown, and Duane Brown; grandchildren Melissa Brown, Alexandria (Brown) George, Ryan Brown, Angela Brown, Colin Brown, Marissa Brown, Lillith Monroe, and Annabella Monroe; great-grandchildren Zane Letterman, Silas George, and Stefan George.
