The Raymore-Peculiar High School production of “Lost in Yonkers” has been selected as one of the top high school plays/musicals in the country.
Ray-Pec theatre students performed the play in fall 2019 at the high school auditorium and then on Jan. 10 at the Music Hall in Kansas City as part of the Missouri State Thespian Festival. At the state festival, it was seen by adjudicators for the International Thespian Festival.
In all, three plays and eight musicals were selected as the top productions. Ordinarily, these 11 shows would be presented on-stage at the International Thespian Festival.
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival will be a virtual event. Details about recognition and performances will be announced as the plans finalize.
