Rick as a young child enjoyed being outdoors. He liked fishing with his Grandad Wilson and brother JR. He loved baseball and spent hours practicing his pitching. Rick’s early education was at Urich Elementary, and he graduated in 1980 from Sherwood High School.

Rick always liked trucking and drove over the road a number of years, always listening to C.W. McCall’s “Convoy.” He spent some years as a mechanic for Duncan Boat Racing and loved every minute of the experience. Operating and repairing machinery and equipment was his passion.

In the evenings in the fall, he drove all over the area searching for a deer in the brush. And on occasion he did find his trophy for the wall.

Rick is survived by his partner and best friend, Deborah Simms of the home; his parents Roy Lee and Carolyn, Creighton; brother JR, King City, Mo., as well as his children Angie Gonzalez (Frankie Jackson), Harrisonville; Jessica Wilson, Clinton; Dustin Wilson (Brooke) Clinton; Dylan Wilson (Kelcey), Kansas City.
