Robert L. Howe of Peculiar passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022, at the age of 70. He was born February 7, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, the second son of Ronald L. and Bessie Jaunita (Cauthon) Howe.
Bob was a graduate of Van Horn High School, class of 1970, following a battle with Hepatitis, which almost took his life. Thanks to his brother Ralph, Bob lived fifty years longer than expected and it was a life he loved. Bob was a professionally certified automotive mechanic, last working as the fleet mechanic for Snake-n-Rooter in Lee’s Summit. Bob was a man who loved the outdoors and doing many things like hunting, fishing, swimming but he also loved playing cards and word games like Boggle or Scrabble and solving crossword puzzles in ink! He enjoyed listening to oldies and country music, shooting Chukar with his brothers and friends and laughing with his family and drinking a cold beer or two after a good day of hard work.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Ardith “Ardie” Howe (Pagel). They were married for almost thirty-seven years, when Ardie passed on April 14, 2020. He was also predeceased by his father Ronald Howe and his sister Rhonda Winn. Bob is survived by his mother, Jaunita Howe of Raymore; his brothers Richard (Konnie) Howe of Belton and Ralph Howe of Lee’s Summit; two sons, Ronnie (Debbie) Howe and Brian Kelly Mercer, both of Belton; one daughter, April (John) Bowers of Stillwell, Kansas; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
