Thomas Eugene Machal

Thomas E. Machal, 83, of Raymore, was born on may 11, 1939, in Kansas City, Mo., to Maxine Dickey, and passed away peacefully on December 3, 2022.


Thomas graduated from Ruskin High School in 1958, joined the Army on June 22, 1958, and completed his apprenticeship through the IBEW Union #124, Kansas City, in 1967. He was an electrician for over 35 years and just this September received his 60-year pin through the Union.


Thomas married Joy on May 10, 1974, and resided in Raymore. Tom and Joy loved to read the Bible together, work word search puzzles, eat out, play cards, cruise and spend time with family.

Thomas had many special interests: coins, stamps, old movies, karaoke, watching football (especially the Chiefs with his grandsons), and mystery shows.

He was a member of the following organizations: 50-plus member and Past Master of the Belton-Grandview Masonic Lodge, 50-plus member and Past Patron of Elizabeth Chapter #142 OES, Past Bethel Associate Guardian, International Order of Job’s Daughters, Member of Adah Court #1, Order of the Amaranth, Past Worthy President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #4146 Raymore, member of Community Christian Church in Kansas City, Mo., and he faithfully attended Central Free Will Baptist Church in Grandview.


Thomas is survived by his wife, Joy L. Machal of the home; daughter Kimberly S. Wood of St. Joseph; son Brian E. Machal (Jennifer) of Kansas City, Kan.; step-daughter Joyce M. Noah (Bruce) of Raymore; and his grandchildren, Quentin Wood, Jared Wood, Trevor Wood, Tyler Machal, Abby Machal, Jonathan Thomas (JT) Noah, Charles Noah and Austin Noah; and a dear cousin Gerriann Wilson (Fred) of Sun City, Ariz.


A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Central Free Will Baptist Church, 3200 Blue Ridge Ext., Grandview. Visitation begins at noon.


In lieu of flowers, contributions can be set to the American Cancer Society.
