Sewing Group meets Nov. 20

The Cass County Sewing Group will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Hobby Lobby in Belton.

The program will be Christmas ornaments. Bring one you’ve made and tell/demonstrate how you made it. Or just come, observe, learn, and enjoy! Membership not required to attend. We are all about sewing; if sewing is your passion, you are welcome to join us.

Cattlemen’s Association meets Tuesday

The Cass/Jackson County Cattlemen’s Association will hold its annual Thanksgiving meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the Cass Room of the Harrisonville Community Center, Harrisonville.

American Legion, Auxiliary meet Nov. 22

The American Legion Post Unit 488 will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Carnegie Village, 103 Bernard Dr., Belton.

All active duty and veterans of all branches of the United States military are cordially invited to attend.

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 488 will meet at the same time and location.

Current and prospective new members including mothers, wives, daughters and granddaughters of all branches of the United States military, veterans, and present day service men and women are cordially invited to attend the Auxiliary meeting.


Raymore Historical Society to meet in new location

The Raymore Historical Society meets the second Tuesday each month at 7 p.m.

Our Nov. 13 meeting will feature stories about some of our Raymore veterans of World War I. We will meet at our new location at 103 S. Washington, Raymore.

All are welcome to attend. The new location is ADA accessible.


Midwest Computer Genealogists meet

Midwest Computer Genealogists will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in Bromwell Lounge at Foxwood Springs.


Our speaker will be Beth Foulk. Her topic is “In Search of My Brother’s Mother – A Personal Adoption Story.”


Everyone is welcome.


Breastfeeding Support Group meets at Cass Regional

Cass Regional Medical Center, the Cass County Health Department and Amy Hall, Certified Lactation Counselor, will host a Breastfeeding Support Group meeting at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month (Nov. 22). The meeting will be held at Cass Regional Medical Center in Conference Rooms 1 & 2, located directly inside the main entrance of the hospital at 2800 E. Rock Haven Road in Harrisonville.

Alzheimer’s Support Group meets Nov. 13


Cass Regional Medical Center will host an Alzheimer’s Support Group meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Conference Room 1, located directly inside the main entrance of the hospital at 2800 E. Rock Haven Road in Harrisonville.

Cass Regional hosts Diabetes Support Group

Cass Regional Medical Center will host a free Diabetes Support Group meeting, starting at 6:30 pm. Thursday, Nov. 15, in Conference Rooms 1, 2 and 3, located directly inside the main entrance of Cass Regional at 2800 East Rock Haven Road in Harrisonville.


Monthly, Cass Regional’s Diabetes Education team presents topics on current trends in diabetes treatments, lifestyle modification options and topics of interest for those who have diabetes or who have loved ones diagnosed with diabetes.

This will be the Holiday Party for the group.


The Diabetes Support Group meetings are free to the public.

CRMC offers free health screenings

Cass Regional Medical Center is providing free health screenings from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the Meadowview Estates located at 533 Meadow View Circle in Peculiar.

Receive free blood pressure, blood oxygen, and blood sugar screenings, and obtain a free total lipid profile, which measures total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides.


For most accurate results, screening participants are asked to fast for at least 12 hours prior to the screening and take medications as usual (with water only).

Women Democrats Club meets

The Cass County Women Democrats meet the second Wednesday of each month at Brewbakers, 140 Cedar Tree Square, Belton, at 6 p.m.

A new Raymore Al-Anon Family Group has begun meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesdays at New Vision Church, 100 Sunrise Dr.


Bel-Ray Sunrise Lions Club meets

The Bel-Ray Sunrise Lions Club meets at 8 a.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at Carnegie Village.


The club grills burgers and dogs at various community events to raise funds for scholarships, youth activities and helping the visually and hearing impaired.


Cass County Coin Club meets at Carnegie

The Cass County Coin Club meets at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at Carnegie Village.

Belton TOPS meets Mondays

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) of Belton meets for weekly weigh-ins, group therapy, competition, recognition, moral support, a monthly magazine and friendships.

TOPS meets from 5-7 p.m. Monday nights.

Carnegie Village seeks volunteers

Carnegie Village Assisted Living is seeking volunteers.

Ray-Pec Sunrise Optimists meet

The Raymore-Peculiar Sunrise Optimist Club meets on the first, second and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 a.m. at IHOP in Belton.
