Walmart shooting injures one

RAYMORE - An individual was rushed to an area hospital with two gunshot wounds following an incident outside Walmart on Tuesday evening.


Raymore Police said the shooter fled the area in a silver sedan following the 6:20 p.m. incident.


According to Chief Jan Zimmerman, witness reports indicated the suspect approached the victim as he approached his vehicle. The two exchanged words, the victim began walking away and the suspect fired, hitting the victim in the leg and the shoulder. A passenger in the victim's car was not injured, she said.

UPDATE 9:45 p.m., Aug. 6: Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect and victim may know each other.


The victim has been treated for non-life threatening injuries.


The suspect fled the scene in a silver sedan and there is no indication he is still in the area.


We are continuing our investigation.
